Wendy Holst and her husband Nate moved to Broomfield 16 years ago and have two children who attend Aspen Creek. She is a CPA and is the Assistant Controller for Clovis Oncology in Boulder.

In the past, Wendy has volunteered as a room parent, PTA treasurer, and was PTA president for Kohl Elementary where her children previously attended school.

She enjoys being actively involved in her children's education, and contributing to the Broomfield community.

In her free time, Wendy and her family like to be active and outdoors, enjoying all the activities Colorado has to offer--camping, skiing, biking and hiking. This summer she checked off her 17th 14ner!

Alyssa McConaughey
Vice President

Why We're Great >

Alyssa McConaughey is a newbie when it comes to the PTA and Aspen Creek world, but she's excited to dive in headfirst!  Alyssa and her husband moved to Broomfield in 2015 to begin their family.  They absolutely love the community!

Alyssa is from Minnesota, went to school at Creighton University and graduated with a degree in Social Work.  She moved to Denver less than a week after graduation where she began working for Long-Term Care Medicaid.  She left her job after 10 years to raise her two boys, ages 4 and 2.  The oldest is in Pre-K at Aspen Creek and adores the school, and the youngest asks daily when he can go.

The two kiddos keep her busy, but she loves being at home with them.  Family time consists of LOTS of sports, games and music.  Never a dull moment in her life!  She loves to cook and has a cookbook collection that would rival the best of them.

Why We're Great >

Katie Petrone is a clinical pharmacist at UCHealth and proud mom of 2 amazing kiddos. Elliot is currently in 5th grade at Aspen Creek and Alyse has moved on to Broomfield High.

Katie and her family love their crazy, furry family that includes 3 cats and a dog--who, as she says, help in "harnessing the essence of a full-time circus right in our own home."

Katie and her family try to enjoy everything Colorado has to offer, including exploring new towns and hiking in the glorious mountains.

Katy Gryboski is a Colorado native who was born and raised in Colorado Springs. She met her husband, Dan, in 7th grade! But they didn't date until after college. Her family moved from Adams 12 to Aspen Creek in 2018. Evelyn is in 5th grade and Owen is in 7th grade at Aspen Creek, and Samson is a sophomore at Broomfield High School.

Katy and her family enjoy camping and boating in the summer, and skiing in the winter. Katy taught middle school math for 10 years in Jeffco. Now she works part-time at a library in Arvada, and she loves to present story times. She enjoys reading (obviously!) and yoga, and is a recent fan of pickleball!

ML Committee,

Eighth Grade Continuation Coordinator

This year my four kids are at three different levels of school!  I have Landry in 5th, twins Tennyson and Rowdy in 6th grade and Brady is a freshman at Broomfield High School (dad’s Alma mater).  All of my kids have been going to Aspen creek since kindergarten!

I love to volunteer at the school as much as I can and also have a business where I videotape peoples life stories so they can pass those memories down for generations.  I also love to cook for my family and friends.

As a family we love to do anything on the lake or beach.  We are lucky to spend a month each summer with grandparents in Montana at their lake home.  We also love traveling and our favorite trip so far was Thailand two years ago with the other grandparents.

Aspen Creek is such a special place and I am grateful to have this community and school for our children.

Elizabeth has been a Room Parent since her oldest daughter was in 1st grade. She is excited to take on the role of Room Parent Coordinator this year, support our teachers, and become more active in the PTA.

The Brown family likes to spend their free time camping, hiking, swimming, fishing, and playing in the great outdoors. Elizabeth loves to paddleboard and hang out at the lake. The family enjoys gardening at home and can often be found running around Broomfield’s many playgrounds!

Why We're Great >

A CU grad and former engineer at Ball Aerospace, Jennifer is now a full-time stay-at-home mom of three girls - a freshman at Broomfield High, a 7th grader at Aspen Creek, and a 3rd grader at Birch. She began volunteering when her oldest started preschool.  She has since volunteered in fundraising, room parent, communications, and now SAC/DAC.

This is her fourth year as the DAC rep and SAC member at Aspen Creek.  She enjoys the opportunity SAC/DAC allows in driving improvement, providing parent feedback, and analyzing data.

She loves connecting with other parents and staff, and getting to know and understand the Aspen Creek community, so please say hello and introduce yourself if your paths cross!
