Wendy Holst, President

Why We're Great >

Wendy Holst and her husband Nate moved to Broomfield 14 years ago and have two children who attend Aspen Creek. She is a CPA and is the Assistant Controller for Clovis Oncology in Boulder.  

 

In the past, Wendy has volunteered as a room parent, PTA treasurer, and was PTA president for Kohl Elementary where her children previously attended school. 

 

She enjoys being actively involved in her children's education, and contributing to the Broomfield community. 

In her free time, Wendy and her family like to be active and outdoors, enjoying all the activities Colorado has to offer--camping, skiing, biking and hiking. This summer she checked off her 15th 14ner!

Megan McDonald,

Why We're Great >

Megan McDonald and her  husband James, moved to Broomfield 15 years ago and love the Aspen Creek community. They have 4 amazing boys. John recently graduated BHS, and Andrew attends Broomfield High School, Ozzie is in 7th grade, and William is in 5th grade. When not driving kids to activities, Megan loves spending time with family and friends, and playing in the backyard. In her family's time here at Aspen Creek, Megan has realized what an impact the PTA can make on the school and was amazed to discover how much the PTA does to enhance our children's and teacher's experience. She is very excited to contribute to this meaningful work!

Katie Petrone,

Why We're Great >

Katie Petrone is a clinical pharmacist at UCHealth and proud mom of 2 amazing kiddos. Elliot is currently in 5th grade at Aspen Creek and Alyse has moved on to Broomfield High.

 

Katie and her family love their crazy, furry family that includes 3 cats and a dog--who, as she says, help in "harnessing the essence of a full-time circus right in our own home."

 

Katie and her family try to enjoy everything Colorado has to offer, including exploring new towns and hiking in the glorious mountains.

Stephanie Stroh

Why We're Great >

Stephanie Stroh considers herself a Colorado native.  After exploring a variety of other places to reside, Stephanie returned to CO in 1999, reaffirming Colorado is the best place to live!

 

Stephanie is a full time working mom and currently holds the position of Global Director of Environmental Health and Safety at Horizon Discovery in Lafayette. In 2016, Stephanie began her journey with PTA by chairing the Aspen Creek STEAM Committee, an initiative she is very passionate about.  For the 2019/20 school year, Stephanie will co-chair the secretary position and again chair the STEAM committee.

Why We're Great >

Sarah Law is excited to join the ‪Aspen Creek‬ PTA this year as Co-Secretary. She and her husband Eric have two children that attend Aspen Creek. Nora is starting 4th grade and Felix is starting in 2nd grade. Sarah served on the PTA for 4 years at Adventure Montessori, where Nora and Felix attended up until the 2018/2019 school year. Last year she volunteered as a room parent and for the Read-a-Thon, while Eric loved helping the teachers administer the Friday spelling tests in the 3rd grade classrooms, and chaperoning many field trips. As parents we feel it is important to take an active role at our kids' school to help build a strong community where teachers, staff and families can communicate and help our children thrive. 

 

Sarah is a Director of Product Management at CenturyLink in Broomfield, and proud to be raising 4th generation Coloradans! As a family we enjoy music, vacationing, eating exotic food and any opportunity to be active or get some downtime.

Tonja Sjerven
Communications

Why We're Great >

Tonja Sjerven grew up in northern Colorado, and is mom to two boys who are in middle school at Aspen Creek. She has been the Online Auction Coordinator for the past 4 years, and served as the Room Parent Coordinator for two years. She is looking forward to learning new skills to support Aspen Creek in her role as Communications Chair.

 

Tonja and her family enjoy the community at Aspen Creek, which feels like an extension of family. They love traveling, good food (lots of tacos!), putting perfect music playlists together for road trips, and everything Star Wars. She savors every moment with her family, quality laughs with friends, photography, volunteering at school, and catching live music every chance she gets.

Erica Erickson

Why We're Great >

This is Erica Erickson's second year on the PTA, and she is excited to give back and help make an impact at Aspen Creek.  She has volunteered as a Room Parent, and as Secretary, and is excited to help invest in her kids’ education. 

As a family, they love being outdoors, at the pool, playing sports, and skiing.  They cherish the time with friends that have become their Colorado family. When not running after kiddos, Erica enjoys crafting, reading a good book, and baking.​

Rachel Divito
Co-Elementary
Room Parent Coordinator

Why We're Great >

Rachel grew up in Colorado Springs, moved to Denver to attend Regis University, and currently resides in Broomfield with her family. She is an Instructional Paraeducator at Aspen Creek, and also has her own wellness business.

 

She and her husband, Steve, have two boys and one furry girl (their dog!). Both Jack (5th) and Nicholas (2nd) have attended Aspen Creek since Kindergarten.

 

Rachel has been a member of the PTA since 2014 and has volunteered as a room parent and helped with various PTA events. This is her first year on the PTA Board as Co-Room Parent Coordinator.

 

As a family they enjoy the mountains year-round, skiing, hiking, and biking. They also love to travel, play sports, spend time at the local pool and just relax with family and friends. In her free time Rachel enjoys scrapbooking, baking and watching her favorite series or movie.

Katie Esquivel

Katie Esquivel is a Colorado native and has lived in Broomfield for 11 years.  She and her husband, Jay, have two children at Aspen Creek--Audra is in third grade and Kian in fifth grade. She has been helping volunteer in the classroom and as a room parent for the past 6 years and is excited to be serving as one of the room parent coordinators this year.  

 

Katie is a preschool teacher at Bal Swan Children's Center and also has her own children's mural business.  

 

In their free time, Katie and her family enjoy hiking, going up to the mountains, puzzles, playing board games and cards, and spending time with extended family.  She loves the Aspen Creek community and is excited to see it continue to grow and thrive.

Heather Silvestri
School Accountability Committee (SAC) Representative

Why We're Great >

Heather Silvestri is a Colorado native who works at Trimble as a product marketing manager. She has worked there for 15 years.

 

She and her husband, Chris, have two boys who are both Aspen Creekers: one is in middle school, and the other is in elementary. Both boys love school and have made wonderful friends at Aspen Creek PK-8.

 

As a family they enjoy hiking, playing sports and singing in the car. Heather also enjoys reading, eating Sweet Cow ice cream and volunteering her time at the school. She started volunteering with the PTA in 2011 and has held many positions including fundraising chair, membership chair, Co-Vice President and Direct Drive lead. This year she is very excited to support the PTA as the SAC Representative.
